We had a bonfire and gave Brady his mission call envelope that I stole from the mailbox before he got home today - and Brady was so bummed that it didn't arrive.  He told me later that he took 'an angry nap' because he was mad his mission call wasn't here!
He enters the MTC on October 3, 2012!

Graduation Quilt

Grandma made Brady a quilt for graduation - he LOVES it and it's very warm!

Cayden thought Grandma was making Brady's graduation GOWN and didn't mention how weird that would be but was much relieved after finding out it was an actual quilt.  LoL

A LOT of hours went into making this and it was worth it Grandma - Brady adores it!

It was a fun night - their group was about 16 kids and Brady & Danee were the only ones who went as a couple.  They ate dinner in Woodinville at Tokyo and had a blast!!  The chef at the restaurant was interactive and the food was awesome.

Itching for a disaster

Brady's senior project is volunteering for Snohomish County - he has had 11 hours of training and is so honored by an 'official badge' - LoLBrady says 'I hope I don't just get 25 hours of training and that a real disaster happens so I can actually do something exciting . . . just think of how awesome my presentation could be!' - LoL

Susan calls this song cheesy, but she makes it modern as well as outstanding!

Brady just might earn his Eagle Scout

This was Brady's last requirement for his Star Rank - choose a project and have his family help:

Fry Guy

We were in Oak Harbor this weekend visiting my sister and her family. We watched baseball games on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.

This is Brady after using the blanket to just shield his already sunburned arms from the sun, obviously got tired and decided to nap:

He reminded me of McDonald's Fry Guy with his sneakers sticking out!

It's a bundt cake - a boont? No, a bUNt!

Wow - times flies as your kids age!!

Brady's favorite food - prawns - so I made alfredo (from a jar! don't look so shocked - hehe) with prawns & garlic bread:

Brady's favorite cake is chocolate, so I made a bundt triple chocolate cake:

1 pkg devil's food chocolate cake

1 pkg chocolate fudge pudding mix

1 cup chocolate chips melted

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 eggs

1 3/4 cups water

2 tsp vanilla

Pour in all the ingredients and mix for 2 minutes. Grease & flour bundt cake pan & pour in batter. Bake 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes and remove cake onto platter.

(I know I didn't frost the center - and it would have looked better for this photo - ha)

Frost with (mousse like):

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp brown sugar corn syrup (or whatever you have on hand)

1 cup melted chocolate chips

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup powdered sugar

Melt chocolate chips with cream, stirring until chips are melted. Transfer to a bowl and let it cool. Add corn syrup, vanilla and butter, mix well. Mix in sugar - might have to add in a touch more powdered sugar or milk to get it to the right consistency.
