Crab Cakes

Leftovers in fridge:
Fish Taco mixture from Gayle's birthday
Lump Crab from Sushi making for Jonathan's birthday
Gotta use them both . . . so let's make crab cakes . . . and bake them instead of fry them - will they turn out???

Combine them, add some cream cheese - why add mayo when you could add cream cheese?  ;)  lemon juice, cayenne, celery salt, green onions, worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, bread crumbs (made in the moment with Dave's killer bread - yum!), eggs - do you ever just concoct ingredients looking in your fridge and seeing what sounds good in your recipe?  hehe
Baked in muffin cups for 20 minutes at 450 degrees:

Why yes, they did - would you be reading this post if it failed?  LoL - served over noodles with lime-ginger-chili-butter sauce . . . I guess I should have cut up a lime for the photo . . .
Even Keaton said they were yum . . .Brady was at work when I made this yesterday!

It was yum!  And I don't care for blackberries . . . okay, so I didn't eat the whole fruit piece on top of my piece ;)

I made a yummy Mexican themed birthday lunch:

Pico in a cored out tomato

Rice & Beans served over flour tortillas (cut into cupcake shapes)

7-layer dip served on a small corn tortilla - one big chip ;)

potato salad served in an egg cup

thinking and trying to be creative . . .

boil yer eggs, remove shells, half and combine yolks in a bowl, add what you like for deviled eggs (mine is a secret ;) and put into frosting bag.
make your potato salad, spoon into egg cups, make a cute design from frosting bag with yolk mixture on top, add bacon pieces
then bring to the party!

BEWARE: guests could be caught tossing it in the trash if you have added raw onions - whatever - grow a palate ;)

4th year hike

we did the 4th year hike this year for Girl's Camp:

We had a bonfire and gave Brady his mission call envelope that I stole from the mailbox before he got home today - and Brady was so bummed that it didn't arrive.  He told me later that he took 'an angry nap' because he was mad his mission call wasn't here!
He enters the MTC on October 3, 2012!
