Hanging Wooden Spool Decoration

The Visiting Teaching message in February is the Divine Roles of Women and I really wanted to create something crafty and cute with some wooden spools:
I designed a message to 'tie' into using wooden spools:
It says 'Women wind their attributes of charity, love, compassion & kindness around others'.
Here is what the whole thing looks like:

I added 4 spools to represent the 4 different attributes.

Last 8 card designs

Not only did I crank out 8 card designs yesterday, but I shampooed the carpet too =)

Too bad for my family I didn't have time to do dinner - LoL  For sure tonight, I'll make dinner ;)

I've seen lots of cute
paper cupcakes - but they all have a cherry on top - when have you EVER eaten a cupcake with a cherry on top?  ;)  Maybe subconsciously they thought the frosting part looked like ice cream - so whoever started it has everyone copying it with no one even thinking about it. . .

What am I creating?

So, here I go on this crazy time-consuming (or basically a day waster) project ;)  Each of these card designs are 3x3 and I have 12 done and 8 to go . . . then I have to duplicate each one 4 more times:

It took me all day to do 6 on Monday and 6 on Tuesday, I'm hoping I can crank out 8 today.  I really think that coming up with different designs is the most time consuming thing - we'll see when I start mass producing duplicates tomorrow ;)  My remaining 8 blank canvases:

You'll have to check back to see the finished project . . . hopefully by Saturday for Valentine's Day!  Do you have a favorite Valentine word =)  I am running out - I've used delish, adorable, cuteness, I love you, dreamy, together forever, be my Valentine, kisses, yummy . . .

Matching Valentine's Card

Here's the Valentine's card that matches the box I made yesterday:

I'm going to deliver it to Jonathan's work today so he can look at our blog again ;)  I asked him not to look so I could post the fun and he could still be surprised!

Baby Kissing Balls

I gave my other one away, so I made a few that match my tree colors better - these are baby ones - Jonathan doesn't like it as much =(

I will probably make a bigger one again, but not put it on my tree - just hang it from the ceiling somewhere - I promise not to post that one as there are too many posts for kissing balls as it is . . . an obvious favorite activity ;)

Kissing Ball Ornament

This is the ornament I'm going to give away tonight.  The theme is . . .'these are a few of my favorite things' . . .and by the way, does every ward this year have the same theme in December - is there a web site out there that all the Enrichment Leaders are brainstorming ideas from?

I love flowers and ribbon and crafting.  Look how I hid the knot up where it hangs from, I took apart a flower pedal and hot glued the knot inside the pedals and then the pedals to each other - it looks like a bud now (sorta hard to see).
I made this from a styrofoam ball, painted it gold (because I was using gold with the pink flowers) and cut pedals off a huge floral stem, added tiny gold balls and ribbon.  I will make a few more for my tree now =)  Mostly because if I didn't buy extra supplies already, I wouldn't be able to give this away - what is up with that?  I need to be more charitable I suppose - hehe

Kissing Ball

I saw a mistletoe Christmas Kissing Ball and loved the idea, so I decided to tackle this craft project on.  I added a few more embellishments than just greenery and ribbon:

I guess they use these at weddings too - although I hadn't ever noticed one before last year.  It is a fun decoration!  So I've been inspired to miniaturize some and make them for my tree - I'm off to Michaels (40% off Michaels) & JoAnn's now (coupons in hand - click on the links and you'll be able to print your own) =)

Decorated Chandelier

I hung a few brown metallic ball ornaments & ribbon from my chandelier:

It looks cooler 'not so close up' and I'm still playing with the ribbon . . .

Christmas Wreath

I got out some Christmas stuff today =) This is my favorite wreath - I made it 2 years ago and still love it:

I had the wreath form from the previous year that was on clearance for $3 - what a deal! Everything I added to this wreath was cheap because I waited until they were 50% off at Michaels. The 1st year I made it I was afraid to put it on my front door in case someone wanted to swipe it - funny, huh?

Craft Box

I've seen square boxes on Splitcoast Stampers, so I used the basic idea but made my box from a 12x12 sheet of cardstock so it would fit the gift:

Nice & roomy! I used brads to hold the sides together:

This is for my friend Sarah who had her 5th baby and is having a shower tonight. No gifts were requested, so I am giving a few things for HER (anyway!). A Spa shower cap (she has really long, beautiful hair), Peach Juicie Lotion - smells awesome and some Caramel Delight lip stick.
Then I made a diaper bag card for baby Eddie:

I made an appetizer for the shower too, Jalapeno Poppers:
Super Yum!
We had some like these at a restaurant one time and I made my own concoction =)

Candlesticks

I bought these Shabby Chick candlesticks on Craigslist (surprise, surprise ;) haha
And I painted them & added beads, ribbon and spheres on top:

Took a long time and many coats of paint!
Can see the detail up closer. I used metallic paint and 2-toned a few decorative parts to accent them. Fun project =)

Fall Wreath

I made this fall wreath last year using dried and silk flowers/berries, but am posting the picture now.  I love fall colors!

I am working on some crafty pumpkins - hopefully will be done tomorrow =)
